# Drilling Activity - Coring

**Core Recovery Data Collection**

For Drill Types:

- Surface - Coring
- Underground - Coring
- Sonic
- Geotechnical

Add an activity of "Drilling".

Add Type, Hole, Bit Data, Core Barrel Size (optional) and Constant Stick Up (optional), then click on “Add Core” ![KruxLog AddCore](https://knowledgebase.kruxanalytics.com/hs-fs/hubfs/KruxLog%20AddCore.jpg?width=99&height=23&name=KruxLog%20AddCore.jpg):

You will be prompted with a form:

Enter the following:

- Depth From (this will be auto-populated but you may override this value).
- Depth To
- Recovered value (opt)
- Orientation (opt)
- Stick Up (opt)
- Core Box Top (opt)
- Core Box Bottom (opt)

Calculated fields (units are set in Preferences):

- Total Drilled
- Core Loss
- Percentage Recovered

You may Save![KruxLog Save Core](https://knowledgebase.kruxanalytics.com/hs-fs/hubfs/KruxLog%20Save%20Core.jpg?width=39&height=21&name=KruxLog%20Save%20Core.jpg) and return to the Drilling activity or you may Save & Add New![KruxLog Save and Add New](https://knowledgebase.kruxanalytics.com/hs-fs/hubfs/KruxLog%20Save%20and%20Add%20New.jpg?width=58&height=32&name=KruxLog%20Save%20and%20Add%20New.jpg)  to add another Core interval.

Back in the Activity form once the Core run is saved you have the ability to Edit and you can view the details of each Core by expanding/collapsing the core cards:
