Daily Shift Report

To go to the Daily Shift Report area, click on the Daily Shift Report button on the taskbar on the bottom of the screen, or click the Menu button and then choose Daily Shift Report from the ribbon on the side.

Creating a New Daily Shift Report

Click the Start New button  to start a new Daily Shift Report. Before editing or starting a new shift report, the Date, Drill number, Contract, Client, Project and Report Shifts fields must be filled in. 

Caution

Before you start a new daily shift report, you must complete and submit any current and unsubmitted reports, as any unsubmitted reports will be lost when you start a new shift report.

Preferences that have been setup will be filled in automatically. Click here to see how to set up Preferences.

Note

The Date field will default to yesterday’s date when you create a new daily report. Always be mindful to select the appropriate date when entering reports. 

If you submit a report with the incorrect date contact your supervisor or company Krux admin to edit it in KruxMetrix web portal, if they are unable to you can reach out to support@kruxanalytics.com

To set the shift time, select the appropriate shift length from the dropdown menu. The Select Shift field cannot be changed after any of the shift reports are edited, so it is important to make sure the right shift length is selected. The shift times can also be edited by clicking the (Edit) button next to the time on the Day, Afternoon, and Night shift report banners.

Once the daily shift reports have been started appropriately, click on the shift you wish to work on it. This will go to the front page of the daily shift report. On the top right of the screen there is a Save button
Make sure to save after updates to any of the various records within the report have been made. Below the Save button there is the header of the Daily Shift Report. 

Shift Header Information

The Header displays the Date of the shift report, the Drill, and the Project. The shift and the time are also listed along with metrics for Activity Hours, Man & Equipment Hours, Distance Drilled and Efficiency Rate. Additionally you can also enter the Start/End of your Drill Engine Hours.

To edit the shift time, click on the button to the left of the shift time, and a pop-up window will appear. Change the times for the Day, Afternoon and Night shifts, and then click the Save button. To cancel without making changes, click on the Close button.

The Overview button when clicked goes to an overview page where one can view everything that has been added to the Daily Shift Report up to that moment. KruxLog Hours Overview

In the Overview page the Date, Drill, and Project details are along the top. To expand the details of the Daily Shift Report, click on the Arrow button KruxLog Overview

 

The Client, Contract, Shift, Status, Supervisor, and Submission Date will be displayed in addition to the previous details. Below you will see the details of the shift including Activity Hours, Distance Drilled, Efficiency Rate, the Man Hours, Equipment Hours, and the various Records of the report. The Man Hours and Equipment Hours can be expanded by clicking on the  Arrow button to view more details about those categories. You also have the option to enter Drill Engine Hours (Start/End to one decimal place):

Below are the detailed Records of the report. Any detail that has an Arrow button on the right-hand side is expandable if more details about the Record needed. 

Click on the arrow in the top left corner of the screen to go back to the Daily Shift Report shift page.

Choose the appropriate Supervisor from the Supervisor drop down menu on the Daily Shift Report header. 

Note

A supervisor must be selected for the report, if there is no designated supervisor on the shift the driller can be selected. This field does not add time to payroll or billing reports. Supervisors billable and payroll time should be recorded on the DSR or a timesheet as an activity.

General Report Completion 

In general you will need to:

  1. Click on each field
    1. Workers
    2. Activities
    3. Equipment
    4. Consumables
    5. Fluids
    6. Forms
  2. Click the +Add button or Add drop-down menu
  3. Fill out the drop-down menus with the appropriate variables
  4. Click the Save button in the top right of the screen to save the variables.
  5. Submit the report

Workers

Edit the Workers component of the report by clicking on the Workers bar.

The Workers component is where to add the people that are working on the job for the shift. If Preferences have been set up and saved, the Workers for that shift should already be listed. Otherwise, hit the Add Worker button and select a worker. 

Next, choose the Worker’s Role from the dropdown menu and click on the appropriate Role.

The Start Date and End Date should be greyed out with the selected shift date. The Start Time and End Time should match the selected shift. If the worker only works part of the shift, click on the time slot, choose the correct time, then click Done to choose the time or click Cancel to back out.


Repeat the process to add in the rest of the required workers. Once all the workers are added, click on the Save button and you should be taken back to the main page of the shift report. 

Note

All DSR shifts must contain a driller to be able to submit the report.

Activities

Edit the Activities component of the report by clicking on the Activities bar.

If Activities are already setup in the pre-set menu, they will appear here. To add a new Activity, click on the Add New Activity drop down menu

Select the Activity and click on it to add it to the report. 

If the drop down list is missing activities that you need, contact your company’s local Krux administrator. Items need to be setup from the Presets in KruxMetrix Web Platform in order for them to appear in the App. If they are unable to fix the issue, contact Krux Support at support@kruxanalytics.com. 

Next, click on the Type drop down menu and select the Type of Activity.

Select the appropriate Hole from the Hole drop-down menu or hit the Add Hole button to create a new hole. If the activity you are performing is the last activity that will be performed on that hole and you no longer need to see it in the list of holes in the future select the Complete Hole checkbox. 

If needed add a comment to the Activity. Then, click on the Activity Hours drop-down menu and add in the complete time of the Activity.

By default, all workers are selected for the entirety of the Activity. Uncheck the All Workers box if the time needs to be altered for some of the workers. The workers list will then appear below.

Click on the Hours drop-down menu to choose the amount of time the worker spent doing the activity. There is a 15-minute time increment default, however if your company has the need for small increments (down to 5-minute increments), this an option set up by your administrator. This can apply to all or specific Drill Types. This is an option is for reports, timesheets and other and anything with time selections.

Click Confirm to apply the time.
Equipment used during an activity can be added directly to an Activity’s time by clicking on the Add Equipment button. Then choose the Equipment and Unit from their corresponding drop-down menus. 
Finally click the Equipment Hours drop-down and select the amount of time the equipment was involved in the Activity and click Confirm.

Activities may have additional fields to complete and select from.

For example, Drilling activities require a To and From drilling depth, a bit to be selected and an option to add or select the bit serial #.

If all the Activities for the shift have been added, click the Save button to be taken back to the report main page. If more Activities are needed, click on the New Activity drop-down menu and repeat the process explained above.

Some activities have required fields that must be completed, upon saving the activities page you may get an error message informing you of which filled still need to be completed.

Directional Drilling Run Data Collection

Once a Drill Type is set up in KruxMetrix as "Directional", you will be able to use the Directional Runs functionality within KruxLog. Note: for more information on managing Directional Runs within KruxMetrix click here.

Add an activity of "Drilling":

Add Type, Hole and Bit data, then click on "Add Run":

You will be prompted with Sliders.

Slider 1:

Mandatory fields:

  • Depth From (this will be auto-populated but you may override this value)
  • Depth To

Optional fields:

  • Start/End Time
  • Pumping Duration
  • Pulling Duration

Calculated fields (units are set in Preferences):

  • Drilling Duration
  • Rate of Penetration

You may Save and return to the Drilling activity or you may Save & Add New to add another directional run.

Back in the Activity form once the Directional Run is saved you have the ability to Edit and you can view the details of each Run by expanding/collapsing the run cards.

Review and complete the report then Submit.

Once the DSR has been completed and submitted, the data will be accessible in KruxMetrix 2.0 (the new version release).

 

Core Recovery Data Collection

For Drill Types:

  • Surface - Coring
  • Underground - Coring
  • Sonic
  • Geotechnical

Add an activity of "Drilling".

Add Type, Hole, Bit Data, Core Barrel Size (optional) and Constant Stick Up (optional), then click on “Add Core” KruxLog AddCore:

  • Depth From (this will be auto-populated but you may override this value).
  • Depth To
  • Recovered value (opt)
  • Orientation (opt)
  • Stick Up (opt)
  • Core Box Top (opt)
  • Core Box Bottom (opt)

Calculated fields (units are set in Preferences):

  • Total Drilled
  • Core Loss
  • Percentage Recovered

You may SaveKruxLog Save Core and return to the Drilling activity or you may Save & Add NewKruxLog Save and Add New  to add another Core interval.

Back in the Activity form once the Core run is saved you have the ability to Edit and you can view the details of each Core by expanding/collapsing the core cards:

Sample Run data collection

For Drill Types:

  • Auger
  • Percussion
  • Reverse Circulation

Add an Activity of Drilling then enter the Activity Type, Hole and Bit Data. Choose "Add Samples":

  • Depth From (this will be auto-populated but you may override this value).
  • Depth To
  • Sample Type: Coal or Rock

Equipment

Edit the Equipment component of the report by clicking on the Equipment bar.

If Equipment is already setup in the preferences, the Equipment will already be listed. To add a new  Equipment, click on the Add Equipment button .

Scroll or search for the Equipment you wish to add and select the desired piece of equipment from the list. 

If you are missing equipment you need in the drop down list, contact your company’s local Krux administrator. Items need to be setup from the Presets in KruxMetrix Web Platform in order for them to appear in the App. If they are unable to fix the issue, contact Krux Support at support@kruxanalytics.com. 

The hole should already be auto filled with the appropriate value from the holes selected in the activates section. If the hole needs to be changed, click on the Hole drop-down menu to select a different hole or hit the button to add a new hole. 

Click on the Unit drop-down menu to select a specific Unit if there are multiple units of the same piece of equipment on site. Selecting multiple units by checking off the check box for each piece will automatically update the Quantity in the menu below. Click on the Quantity menu and either type in the number of units being used or use the Arrows on the right side of the menu to raise or lower the number if needed. 

If all the Equipment for the shift have been added, click the Save button to be taken back to the report main page. If more Equipment is needed, click on the button and repeat the process explained above.

Consumables

Edit the Consumables component of the report by clicking on the Consumables bar.

To add a new Consumable, click on the .

If you are missing consumables you need in the drop down list, contact your company’s local Krux administrator. Items need to be setup from the Presets in KruxMetrix Web Platform in order for them to appear in the App. If they are unable to fix the issue, contact Krux Support at support@kruxanalytics.com. 

Add in the Quantity by typing in the amount of Consumable used in the text box. 

If all the Consumables for the shift have been added, click the Save button to be taken back to the report main page. If more Consumables are needed, click on the  button and repeat the process explained above before saving. 

Fluids

Edit the Fluids component of the report by clicking on the Fluids bar.

To add a new Fluid, click on the  button.

Click on the Fluid drop-down menu and select the required type of Fluid from the list near the bottom of the screen. 

Click on the Type drop down menu to choose the Type of Fluid required.

Type in the amount of Fluid used in the Volume text box . Click on the unit drop down box to choose the unit of measurement for the Fluid. If set in Preferences, the measurement unit will already be filled.

To add the Cost, type in the Cost in the text box or use the Arrows to get to the nearest dollar. This is an optional field.

If all the Fluids for the shift have been added, click the Save button to be taken back to the report main page. If more Fluids are needed, click on the button and repeat the process explained above before saving. 

Forms

Edit the Forms component of the report by clicking on the Forms bar.

Upon entering the Forms page, required forms that are mandatory to be submitted with every Daily Shift Report will be highlighted Required in red font. To download a copy of the required form click on the button.

Once the form is filled out appropriately, click on the to attach desired file, select the file to attach and select Open. The file will attach and have a green Attached checkbox when successful. A Comments text box will appear and any desired Comment can be added there.

Forms filled out on a mobile device will also have the option to take a picture of the form, which allows the form to be uploaded from a picture or from a saved screenshot.

Click on the Camera button next to the . The option to select the image from the user Library or to use the Camera will appear near the bottom of the screen. 

Tap on the desired option and choose the needed file. The file will then be attached. 
To be able to submit the Daily Shift Report all of the Required forms will need to be Attached to the report.
Optional Forms are not required to submit the Daily Shift Report and can be added by following the same Download, Fill out, and Attach process as detailed above. 
Once all the Forms have been downloaded and uploaded, click on the Save button to return to the report main page.

 

Comments

To add additional comments on the Daily Shift Report main page, click in the Comments text box and type in the required comment. Click on the to attach a file to the comment section.

Click on the Camera button, this option allows the user to select the image from their Library or to use the Camera. 

Review, Save, and Submit The Daily Shift Report

It is key to always review the Daily Shift Report before submitting it. Take a look through the Overview, check through the Activities, and make sure that the correct amount of time is captured for the shift.
Make sure to Save the report . 
To submit the report for Validation in the Krux Metrix web portal, click on the Submit button near the top of the report.

Edits to previously entered reports must be done through KruxMetrix, navigate to the DSR page. This access is limited by user role and is configured by your administrator.

 

Review and complete the report then Submit:

Once the DSR has been completed and submitted, the data will be accessible in KruxMetrix 2.0 (the new version release).
